Comprehending the Spirit of God

How can we comprehend the Spirit of God? God is so holy – so far set apart from us – that it is hard to completely understand his Spirit. Yet he has given us information in his book, the Bible, about the way he works in this world and in the lives of those who try to serve and follow him. Join us for an interesting weekend about “Comprehending the Spirit of God”.

Friday June 6 – Monday June 9

The following is a brief summary of the program for the weekend. Not all of these activities are to be held at the Dandenong Bible Education Centre, so please ask for a program of events to be sent to you. Ring 9791 1699 or visit us.

Friday June 6th (evening)

  • Dinner and Study One, followed by singing and games
Saturday June 7th (afternoon and evening)
  • Study Two followed by dinner and Study Three with some activities for children
Sunday June 8th (morning and afternoon)
  • Study Four followed by lunch
Monday June 9th (afternoon)
  • Games followed by afternoon tea

This DVD tells the story of Dwight Kindred who grew up as a Christian, decided to be a minister, and attended seminary while specializing in Hebrew and Greek studies. He eventually lost his sight due to a congenital cornea failure. His loss of vision prompted him to listen to the Bible on tape. As he listened he began seeing the Bible in a new light, and ended up radically changing his beliefs. Dwight tells his story whilst travelling on a trip to Israel. The setting creates an engaging backdrop.

The nation of modern Israel has just turned 60 years old. Of course Israel was a nation in Bible times but for almost 2000 years there was no nation called “Israel”. In May 1948 the state of Israel was proclaimed.
